"A home for disabled and neglected frogs"
Terms and Conditions
1. Please understand that this is a forever friend. Frogs live 20+ years in captivity. You must be ready to make a years-long commitment to your new friend.
2. These animals are not toys. They do not require photo shoots and should not be handled outside the tank more than once or twice a week at most.
3. At any point in the application process and interview, we can decide you are unfit to take on the frog and ask you to apply again at a better time. If you are a no-show for the interview, you will have a chance to reschedule, but after the second no-show, your adoption process will be terminated. Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead if you need to reschedule.
4. There is an adoption fee for each animal. This is in place to (1) cover part of their treatments and time at the rescue and (2) ensure you are willing to pay for this animal and not get a free frog to sell or harm them. If you refuse to pay this fee, your application will be denied.
5. Mother of Frogs Rescue is not responsible for covering shipping or drop-off. You must be willing to cover shipping or come to a spot in Washington, DC, to pick them up.
6. These are rescued animals, so they may have health conditions for the rest of their lives with certain things. You must be willing to pay for any possible vet treatment down the line. We rehabilitate to the best of our abilities, but you are still adopting from a rescue, so please be aware of the needs that come with these animals.
7. We will reject your application if you don’t have a setup ready or have not researched.
8. Mother of Frogs Rescue is not responsible for illness due to poor conditions in your care. You MUST understand that these are sensitive animals that can get sick easily. Again, this is a big commitment, just like when you adopt a dog or cat.
9. You will not sell or flip the animal you adopt, if you fall on tough times please contact us and we will take them in again.
10. If, for whatever reason, Mother of Frogs Rescue is made aware of neglect towards any of our adopted animals, we reserve the right to bring them back into our care.
