"A home for disabled and neglected frogs"
About us
Mother of Frogs Rescue has been a home for disabled and neglected frogs since 2018. Located in Northern Virginia, we have rescued and rehabilitated almost 20 different species. We pride ourselves on offering a safe place for amphibians to heal and find their forever homes. We work with a wonderful local exotic clinic to ensure the best veterinary care possible. Tay, our owner, has seven years of experience working with frogs. From administering medication to CPR, Tay can do it all.

*We are currently in sanctuary mode to comply with Virginia law and not adopting out any frogs. We do have spots open for emergency cases, so please don't hesitate to reach out for an intake. See the adoption page to view our disabled frogs within our sanctuary!*
On our website, you'll find our available friends ready to find their forever homes! You can click the "available friends" tab to read their bios. If you find a friend who seems to be a great fit for your family, click the documents tab to fill out our adoption application via JotForm. Please note that there is an adoption fee for each friend based on how much care they require for rehabilitation. If shipping is needed, you must also be ready to pay for that. We do not ship outside of the US.

If you decide to rehome your pet, we have an intake form you may fill out. You can also reach us on the contact page for questions, possible leads for a friend needing help, and business inquiries.

We run entirely on donations and income from our creative undertakings. If you're interested in helping us, please consider donating, joining our Patreon, or purchasing some of our merchandise.

Hi! I'm Tay, Mother of Frogs Rescue's owner and founder! I am 25 years old and originally from Ontario, Canada. I moved to the US at fourteen with my family and have previously lived in Texas and the District of Columbia.

Over the years, I have had many opportunities to do amazing things. My work has been featured in podcasts such as Breaching Extinction and Pet Owner Diary Show, which I eventually became a temporary co-host of in 2021.
Beginning in 2020, I provided patients and subjects for the amazing Dr. Jonathan Kolby and Dr. Anna Fagre's "frungus" team at Colorado State University. My care and monitoring provided information for a research paper on the rare fungal disease, Veronaea botryosa. Our teamwork was the first confirmed case observed in domesticated frogs. The paper was published in the summer of 2022 and can be found here.
I had the honor of hosting a panel at Frog Con 2022. I gave a talk on my work with rescuing disabled frogs. I then hosted another panel for Amphibian Week 2023 titled "Finding A Best Friend: A Talk on Pet Amphibians" about the choices one must make before adopting an amphibious pet. We were also featured as a Frog Cam during Frog Con 2023. We are excited to attend Frog Con 2025, hosted by our friends at Frog Cult.

We moved to Washington, DC, in 2022 so my partner could attend law school. Most recently, we have relocated once again to Northern Virginia after his graduation. Our little family includes the two of us, our kitty Rosie, and the froggies! Our life can be a little crazy sometimes. But what's a better conversation starter than telling people we live with 20+ frogs?
